Letter from Haiti

Photo: Max Daphinis using Birders' Exchange binocular at 6000ft above Port-au-Prince, Haiti. May 2001. by JR Crouse.

Dear Birders' Exchange,

Greetings from Haiti.

I'm pleased to send you a photo of Max Daphinis making use of one of the binoculars that Birders' Exchange graciously provided earlier in the year. Max is checking out the landscape at 6000' above Port-au-Prince, Haiti. We had just looked at several Antillean Siskin. Later on we spotted and heard a Rufous-throated Solitaire.

Over the last several months the binoculars have been used by young and old alike to discover birds they had never seen before, or to see up close those birds they are familiar with. Although I am only able to take a few people birding once or twice a month, each person appreciates the fact that I have some binoculars to share with them.thanks to Birders' Exchange.

Sincerely,
JR Crouse
