Report of Delivery of Materials Donated by Birders Exchange

This report summarizes the delivery of three binoculars, a cap, a patch and stickers donated by Birders' Exchange to the Panamanian Center for Research and Social Action (CEASPA) to be given to people involved and interested in bird watching activities in the area where our projects are being developed in the province of Colon.

The delivery of the donation was carried out in the following way:

  • One Bausch & Lomb 8x24 binocular, sticker, patch and cap to Michael Castro - activist in bird watching in the area where the project is being developed..

  • One Janson 7x50 binocular with leather case, given to Yohanis Jiménez, young and enthusiastic bird watcher, who has taken training courses and is presently working as assistant of the bird watching workshops and follow-up tours.

  • Bushnell Ensigne 7x35 binocular with black vinyl case, given to Belisario Villarreal, community member of Achiote who took the first bird watching training course and who still has interest in birds observation.

Michael Castro a young enthusiastic bird watcher has participated as assistant in ornithological research in Achiote Road, and is also assisting in bird watching courses. He has worked with community groups of children and teenagers on environmental education activities.

 

Yohanis Jiménez, is a young birdwatcher who is highly motivated. He recently participated as assistant in a bird watching workshop and in follow-up field trips.

Belisario Villarreal, participated in the first bird watching course given by the Audubon Society of Panama in the community of Achiote, in 1998. Mr. Villarreal continues his bird watching activities with a lot of enthusiasm during his free time in the surroundings of his house in the community of Achiote.
